UK must act now to support internet of things, regulator warns

The UK is ill-prepared to deal with massive growth in internet of things devices, industry regulator Ofcom has warned. It called on government and industry to work tougher to deal with issues such as mobile spectrum, data privacy and network security to ensure the UK takes a global lead in internet of things technology. The internet of things is set to grow more than eight-fold by 2022, with hundreds of millions of devices carrying out more than a billion daily tasks in the UK alone.
