An online marketplace for buying and selling pre-owned laboratory equipment.

MerkaLoop Limited operates an online marketplace for pre-owned laboratory equipment, connecting buyers with third-party resellers. Founded in the early 2020s, the company has positioned itself as a cost-effective alternative for labs seeking to purchase or sell used equipment. As of 2026, MerkaLoop lists over 428 verified pieces of equipment, ranging from centrifuges to pipettes, with discounts often exceeding 50% off retail prices.

The platform leverages an AI agent to assist buyers in finding and comparing equipment, though it cautions users to verify AI-generated advice due to potential inaccuracies. MerkaLoop's warranty policy covers purchases for six months, providing a layer of security for buyers. The company has not disclosed revenue figures or headcount, but its marketplace includes equipment from major manufacturers like Eppendorf, Thermo Scientific, and Cole-Parmer.

Recent activity suggests a focus on expanding its inventory and improving the AI agent's capabilities, though the company faces competition from both traditional resellers and other online marketplaces. MerkaLoop's value proposition centers on affordability and convenience, but its reliance on third-party sellers introduces variability in equipment condition and shipping times.
